I saw this Carl Sagan video some time ago and it really got my wheels turning as to how we could try and ascertain a pattern to truly anomalous sightings.

My hypothesis is that we treat time as another spatial dimension, such as that when anomalous unidentified flying objects are reported, we establish cameras (for a set period of time) focused on the location where the object was last observed. This is by no means concrete but if it is validated, we will be able to properly observe, monitor, and report our findings with more sophisticated filming/monitoring equipment.
