The hashtag #WheresEric has begun to trend on Twitter in response to the mysterious disappearance of Eric Braverman, the former CEO of the Clinton Foundation. Braverman, who once had an active online presence has not posted anything on the internet since the 12th of October.

It has been speculated that Braverman’s abrupt disappearance has something to do with his tenure at the Clinton Foundation and the circumstances which led to him suddenly resigning in the January of 2015. It is believed that Braverman’s resignation was triggered by the waves of scandal and corruption engulfing the non-profit organization, the full extent of which is still coming to light.

It seems most likely that Braverman’s resignation was linked to the scandal caused by Hillary Clinton’s of a private email server to send vital communication relating to her role as Secretary of State. This scandal led to a huge number of emails from within the Clinton Foundation being exposed to the public view which revealed a great deal of corruption and shady activity going on within the organization. Among the damaging revelations was the fact that Clintons had been selling influence with the US government to wealthy foreign benefactors, the fact that individuals within the organization had knowledge that Saudi Arabia and Qatar were funding ISIS.

It has been suggested that Braverman was attempting to clean up the corruption in his office but was ultimately unsuccessful and that the huge scandal generated by the private email server forced him to quit with frustration. Following his resignation, John Podesta expressed his belief that Braverman had regularly leaked information about the organization into the public domain. Therefore, it is very interesting that Braverman’s ‘disappearance’ happened to coincide with the timeframe that Podesta’s own emails were hacked and leaked into the public domain.

Whether Braverman has actually disappeared or whether he is choosing to keep a low profile is still unknown, but his recent lack of activity is certainly beginning to raise eyebrows among social media users. As of yet, various attempts to make contact with Braverman by telephone and email have proven to be unsuccessful.
