McAfee founder points out the holes in the Russian hack story.
John McAfee, the founder of the world famous McAfee virus protection, has given a scorching interview with Russia Today in which he completely calls into question the claims that the DNC emails were hacked by Russian agents.
According to McAfee, there are several reasons why the story simply just doesn’t add up. He said that the Russian language was found in the malware which infected the computers and that the malware had been written using a Cyrillic keyboard. In addition to that, the time stamps indicated that the hacking took place during business hours on the Russian west coast and pointed to a Russian IP address. McAfee said that the evidence was simply too neat to be believable. If the hack had been perpetrated by Russian agents, they would not have been so foolish as to signpost their involvement. They would not have interjected Russian language into the malware; they would have used an English keyboard, and they would have removed the time stamps and made sure that the IP address was untraceable. Rather than suggesting that Russian agents were responsible for the hack, this evidence suggests that someone was trying to frame Russia for the attack.
He also pointed out that the hack of the DNC email servers used a malware program that is at least eighteen months old. This suggested to him that the hack was perpetrated by an individual amateur working alone who had simply downloaded the software from the internet. “This is not an organized hack and certainly not a nation-state that did this, ” he concluded.
McAfee went on to say that; “The whole Russian hacking narrative is either propaganda intended to incite the American people, to anger toward Russia for some reason, or our intelligence community is so ignorant and naïve that they should all be replaced.”
