The #1 Paranormal News Site
Last year, foreigners that are made up of mostly Australians and Americans bought nearly 1,400 square miles of land in New Zealand, four times more than what they bought in the same period the previous year.
Nuclear war is just one of the fears driving the billionaire ‘refugees’
Rich survivalists like to swap tips on private Facebook groups or at regular dinners on the best places to buy land and where the greatest deals are to be found. Popular subjects at these meetings range from buying internet currencies such as Bitcoin to which foreign countries are most likely to hand them a passport. It is common for the elite to get laser surgery to correct their eye site for the reason that if society collapses getting new eyeglasses will be very hard to impossible. Finally it is common for doomsday preppers with money to take on archery training so that they can catch food and defend themselves with a weapon with a renewable and easy to create ammo source.
One of the more expensive, but very effective purchases for the elite afraid of the apocolypse is to rent rooms or entire abandoned missle silos from the cold war converted to doomsday bunkers. One such sellers of missle silo defense bunkers goes by the name “Survival Condo” and they have this to say on their website. Our objective when first approaching this project was to leave no stone unturned, and to ensure that every detail, from safety, feature and function, to style, comfort and luxury, every aspect of this endeavor had to be just right. The fact is, you can find other solutions for “survival living”. Though none of the options today offer the peace of mind that comes with our state-of-the-art technologies, combined with the comfort and luxury that is offered through our Survival Condo ownership opportunity. Nothing even comes close. Shared Facility Features Elevator.
Post-apocalypse design for the rich tends to involve creating a home with a huge bomb-proof basement that may even have an additional subbasement of it’s own in case the first basement is compromised. The home must be self-contained, not only off the grid but with tanks for raising edible fish to eat, and hydroponic grow rooms to grow vegetables and marijuana without soil. The Survival Condo Project mentioned above has been converted into a 15- story luxury apartment complex with a pool, gym, classroom and a miniature hospital protected by ground-level security cameras, electric fences, an on-site armory that comes preloaded with high powered weapons and ammo (training sold seperately), a sniper post and even a prison cell in which to put unwanted visitors that will inevitably try to force their way inside the shelter. Instead of windows, giant LED screens show live pictures of the prairie above recorded with state of the art cameras. Its creators have already sold all 14 of the $3m homes and are developing a string of new sites say it can sustain 70 people indefinitely and that whenever North Korea makes threats the sales go up. Finally, his team promise to send a Pit-Bull VX armoured truck to collect a resident from within a 400-mile radius of the silo, a giant armored personlle carrier that should be more than enough to plow it’s occupants to their new home with a beast of a vehicle armored to the gills.
Though there are many of us who will never be able to afford such luxury, it is always interesting to look into just what money can buy those who may be just a bit more paranoid than the rest of us. Apocolypse aside, just the capability to be fully self-sufficient and able to live on one’s own is amazing, to think that you could be off the grid and grow your own food and drink from water absorbed from the ground while the rest of the world lives on without bothering you. The guns and turrets don’t hurt to have either.
