The Latin Grammy Award winner can see it in her lyrics.
“Over time, the lyrics mature because I’ve had different experiences,” she says. “But my writing process is still the same as it’s ever been. I still find myself writing at home mostly. It’s where I can actually concentrate on what I’m doing with the least amount of distractions.”
Moreno worked with producer Gabriel Roth on her latest album, “Illusión,” released in 2016.
She’s excited about performing the songs during the latest leg of her tour, which will bring her to Albuquerque, then Europe and her home country, Guatemala.
“I’m going to be away for a while, but it’s been so long since I’ve been out on tour,” she says. “It’s time to put the new music out there for the fans and see their reaction. I was very lucky to work with Gabe on this album. It was stripped back a little, and it’s really pure.”
Moreno will perform on Saturday, June 24, at the National Hispanic Cultural Center. She will perform with Los Angeles-based band Las Cafeteras as part of the Festival Chispa event. Read more on Moreno.
