I live in Austin, TX. As I was pulling up to my apartment tonight, I looked up and saw an extremely bright green orb shaped thing in the sky. I'm talking way bigger than a star. Not quite as big as the moon, but brighter. It zipped across half the sky in under a second and disappeared. Or more precisely, if horizon to horizon is 180 degrees, it went at least 30 or 40 degrees before disappearing. There was no trail like a comet. Instead it seemed like a light trail like when you move a sparkler really fast. I looked up a couple videos of meteor fireballs and it didn't look like that. Way faster.
I had never heard of green fireball type things before. But after seeing this I looked it up, and came across this article on green fireball UFOs which have appeared since the 1940s with no apparent explanation. Some scientists at least thought they could not be explained naturally, especially since they were only seen in the Arizona area.
What do you guys think? UFO or just an exceptionally bright and fast meteor? Wish I had a picture of it.
