So I'm standing outside my back door in Nashville waiting for my dog to finish her business and since it's a clear sky, I looked up to admire the stars, and as always, secretly hope I see evidence of a UFO. Well tonight it happened. For what it was, it was kind of uneventful…

At first it looked like a high altitude jetliner, but I didn't see the tell-tale signs of any blinking lights. So then I figured it must be a satellite. I've seen them before and I know how to recognize them. But as I watched it travel across the sky, It started getting dimmer. Then more and more dim as it flew in a straight line – until it completely vanished. I kept looking at the place in the sky where I was expecting it to become visible again but it never did. there weren't any trees or buildings in the way, it was just open sky. it was there, and then it just wasn't! I wish it would have done something a bit more interesting like make a super-fast 90 degree turn or something, but it was still pretty cool.
