Disclaimer: This is a true story.

This event happened a couple of years ago. I was still a teenager and me and my buddies were hanging out at a friend's house watching movies, chatting, playing video games. Nothing out of the ordinary.

At around 2 am me and my friend Luke decided to go home. We were living in another town, around five km away from our friend's place. We didn't want to walk. So I took my friend's bike and Luke put on a pair of roller blades. It was a clear countryside night. No clouds, a sky full of stars. No street lights, no cars.

After a few minutes on our way, Luke was taking the road and I was riding on a designated bicycle track a few meters away from him, keeping an equal pace, I saw something strange in the sky. It looked like an oversized burning match slowly fading out.

I asked Luke if he had seen it. No response. I asked again. Still nothing. Only then I realized he wasn't there anymore. Bear in mind, we were keeping the same pace and were also going uphill – me on a bike, him wearing roller blades. There was no way he could've been faster.

I stopped and tried to call him with my cell. There was no connection, although the signal was usually strong in that area. What was going on? The only thing I could really do was to keep on going. Alone.

When I arrived back home, he was already there waiting. He was puzzled because he had been there for more than half an hour before I arrived. I told him what I had seen and he freaked out. He said, at one point I seemed to be gone, too.

There's no way he could've been that much faster than me on roller blades. Also we were talking until the light appeared.

I would really like to know your opinion, guys. Until this day we can't find an explanation.
