To properly grasp what was discovered underwater a few weeks ago, one must first take a look at this freakish looking creature that was found in the central China Shaanxi province in shallow seawater, the creature measuring at around one mm long which is not quite microscopic but is very small and appears to be about the size of a spec of grain to the naked eye.
The creature itself appears to be a flat bag-like creature that almost looks like a human face with teeth and eyes poking against a bag, but upon further inspection, you’ll see that is just the side of the creature, and the mouth is actually located on the top left.
The creature itself is flat and deflated from the profile angle which is where it got its bag nickname. Another interesting claim by the scientists investigated the creature is that it appeared to both eat and excrete from its mouth due to the fact that it did not have an anus. Finally, they concluded that the little creature travels around the water current and when necessary wiggles around to become mobile
The scientist reported that the pile of tiny fossils they were investigating was a tiny pile of grain. The more astounding claim by some scientists, however, is that this tiny piece of life may represent a missing link between man and animal. While claims of a missing link are made and debunked often in the scientifical world, the ramifications such a find could have if confirmed make up for the constant interest in finding said link. It is very rare to find a living organism so small that isn’t just a cell or similar molecular anomaly.
