Sodium Fluoride Officially Recognized as Neurotoxin by Prestigious Journal The Lancet

In the past few years, the movement to remove dangerous industrial chemical sodium fluoride from the water supply has grown rapidly, with more and more academic support for the belief that sodium fluoride is hazardous to human health.

The Lancet, one of the world’s oldest and best-known general medical journals has released an article classifying fluoride as a developmental neurotoxicant. Other chemicals identified as being in the same class of toxins include lead, methylmercury, polychlorinated biphenyls, and arsenic. These substances pose a substantial risk to the mental development of those exposed to them.

In addition to this, six more substances have been classified as developmental neurotoxicants: fluoride, chlorpyrifos, dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane, tetrachloroethylene, and polybrominated diphenyl ethers.

The Lancet article proposed a strategy of global prevention of exposure to untested chemicals and the urgent formation of international organizations to combat childhood exposure to these dangerous chemicals.

Coinciding with this are the 2013 findings by a Harvard University meta-analysis funded by the NIH showing that children in areas with heavily fluoridated water have IQs substantially lower than children in areas without the fluoridated water.

Fluoride in drinking water has also been linked to a veritable smorgasbord of cancers. Sodium fluoride being functionally different from the from the naturally occurring calcium fluoride, and being distributed through shared water supplies, as well as dental supplies meant to be beneficial to our health.

As of the present, fluoride is added to water supplies across nearly all of North America, yet other countries reject fluoridation outright, in and out of the developed world. During the 1960s and 1970s, water was fluoridated in the Netherlands, until the Supreme Court of the Netherlands banned the fluoridation of drinking water, stating that there was no basis for adding chemicals to drinking water without improving the safety of said water. Since then, no drinking water in the Netherlands has been fluoridated.
