I wanted to share the one and only UFO sighting that I had. This happened in the summer in 1999 or 2000.

I was exiting a shopping plaza around 2 or 3 AM. My friend was driving and I was sitting in the passenger seat looking out the window towards the highway. A bright green orb in the sky catches my eye. It's about the size of a dime held an arms length away, maybe about a mile (very rough guess) above the ground.

I ask my friend to stop the car, and watch the object speed across the sky. The highway makes a 90 degree bend a few miles up the road, and the object maintains its altitude and follows that contour before it shoots up into the atmosphere and vanishes. The upward motion was that of an arc, not a perpendicular change of direction.

I'm sitting there in awe when I hear a noise. Following the same path as the object are now five or six helicopters. A second or two later, a plane with three bright forward-facing lights follows behind the helicopters.

After the plane passes, I notice that the people in the car in front of us had both left their vehicle and are also looking up at the sky.
