Over the year the exoplanet Wolf 1061c has been the source of much scrutiny. The distant planet which was discovered back in 1919 by a German astronomer by the name of Max Wolf. The exoplanet then considered a red dwarf star was determined to be around fourteen light years from the earth.
Does Wolf 1061c Host Alien Life?
But over the years it was determined that Wolf 1061c was a planet, but that wasn’t the only thing that was discovered about it. It turns out this far distant planet seemed to have an atmosphere similar to that of the earth itself and was classified a Class M Planet, unlike the other eight planets of our solar system. So, is it any wonder this distant planet became the object of much research for scientist including a research team at San Francisco State University. Their research has uncovered more interesting facts about Wolf 1061c including the fact that it could inhabit alien life.
According to their research, Wolf 1061c has three other exoplanets surrounding it. These planets seem also to be habitable, but the funny things are according to the research these habitable periods seem to come and go at different periods of time. This was determined to be because the solar system in which these planets exist has an uninhabitable zone within it. None the less given these findings so far the exoplanets found are perhaps the closest ones to the earth as being able to inhabit life. So, is this proof that Wolf 1061c could be housing alien life. Well, so far new confirmation has been given that there is actual life on Wolf 1061c but the research on whether this is possible continues.
The team at San Francisco State University headed up by Stephen Kane certainly continue their study of Wolf 1061c and Kane was quoted as saying about the t research:
“Because of its nearby position, the star system of Wolf 1061 is vital for investigation. Our study, once published for public access will give other chances to carry out follow-up research to find if it has alien life or not.”
