A new trailer for the hotly anticipated Alien: Covenant trailer has just dropped online to the delight of science-fiction fans all over the world. The new trailer gives viewers a terrifying glimpse of the gore-filled ride in store with the next installment of the Alien franchise which was created by Ridley Scott.

There have been lots of hints dropped by the studio about the exact nature of this latest installment of the franchise. Previously released trailers have seen a new team on a colony ship called Covenant which is on a long journey across the galaxies to a newly discovered exoplanet where they are supposed to make their homes.

The glorious countryside of the New Zealand outback provides the hauntingly beautiful background to the eerily quiet planet that the crew has been sent to colonize. Upon arrival, the crew thinks that they have discovered an uncharted paradise and are absolutely besotted with their newly found home. But as the tagline tells the viewer; “the road to paradise begins in hell, realise” and it doesn’t take the crew very realize that life on the planet is fraught with unfathomable dangers.

The new trailer gives viewers some indication of what those dangers might entail. The millions of fans of the incredibly successful franchise will be glad to learn that the latest Alien film features all of the suspense, terrifying moments and gruesome, gory scenes as the previous installations. Fans of the movies are also hoping that this prequel will provide answers to some of the unanswered questions about the terrifying monster posed by earlier films.

Alien: Covenant features an all-star cast of hugely talented actors and actresses including Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender. The terrifying movie will hit cinema screens across the country on the 19th of May.
