With the way things are going with bees and pollination, it won’t be long before we experience the extinction of the several species of bees. And if proper measure and care is not taken we might just be heading for that, with the knowledge of this in mind, researchers have been able to come up with a remote control pollinator, making use of the help of a small drone that has in it a sticky gel, which if properly utilized and developed could be a saver from the possible extinction of the bee species.
Looking at the way the work of pollination is mounting high on the bee species and other natural pollinators, which account huge sum of money, in billions of dollars of the yearly global food production, a very easy way to ease the pressure of pollination on insect and other animals that are a major work force in agricultural activities, is to employ the use of artificial pollinators.
It is however funny and quite surprising, that even at the fact that, the discovery of artificial pollinators will help a great deal and would save the ecosystem of losing the bee and other insect species, it was also recorded by the researchers in national institute of advanced industrial science and technology in Japan, that the discovery was merely unintentional and was quite unprecedented. It was just a discovery birth by luck or chance.
Record has it that a chemist scientist named Eijiro Miyako, while conducting, research on ionic liquids, in an attempt to see if he could solvents that could be used as better electrical conductors, the result of the research and experiment instead produced a gel that was as sticky as hair wax, which unfortunately was not a good conductor of electricity as intended. Upon abandoning the liquid as a result of failure, after so many years, he was amazed to that the liquid gel had not decayed, and from thence emerged another series of great discovery and experiments, the relation in the method of pollination among bees and other insect involving something sticky to transfer grains among plants and the liquid gel discovered from Miyako experiments gave birth to what is now seeming to be an alternative means of pollination and as well a good way to save the bee species, and the insect world at large from its looming extinction.
