A new film produced by Ridley Scott is hitting theaters soon and promises to shed some light on the Phoenix Lights UFO case.
The Phoenix lights UFO case was a mass sighting event that took place 1997 in which hundreds of people in the Phoenix Arizona area saw strange lights in the sky, and some the outline of a triangular craft of some kind.
The case remains the best documented UFO sighting ever, and since it took place relatively recently, there are numerous clear and detailed pictures and footage of the strange craft also.
Some speculate that the object was seen that night could have been an experimental military aircraft of some kind, although no explanation so far has come forth from the airforce or any other U.S government agency.
Other theories include some kind of hot air balloon since the object seemed to move in the direction of the wind and most cases were seen moving slowly. Also, a group of planes flying in close formation has also been postulated since the outline of the shape seen was so vast and larger than any conventional earth aircraft.
The new movie, ‘Phoenix Forgotten’ is directed by Justin Barber and is released into theaters on April 21st. The trailer can be seen below:
The movie isn’t the first to center around the events of the Phoenix Lights case although most of the other efforts to date have been low-budget and failed to make much of an impact. Rather than a factual account of what happened at the time, however, the movie is a found-footage horror film. From the press release:
“Based on the shocking, true events of March 13th, 1997, when several mysterious lights appeared over Phoenix, Arizona. This unprecedented and inexplicable phenomenon became known as “The Phoenix Lights”, and remains the most famous and widely viewed UFO sighting in history. Phoenix Forgotten tells the story of three teens who went into the desert shortly after the incident, hoping to document the strange events occurring in their town. They disappeared that night and were never seen again. Now, on the twentieth anniversary of their disappearance, unseen footage has finally been discovered, chronicling the final hours of their fateful expedition. For the first time, the truth will be revealed.”
Phoenix Forgotten should at the very least, bring the incident to the wider attention of the world, and could perhaps inspire people who either saw the event but didn’t come forward and document their sighting at the time or those who have seen similar things elsewhere, to come forward.
