Distance of UFO(s) in sky: They would sit in one place then shoot straight up hover then go side to side, I never saw anything like it before and I have lived in the bay area for 46 years

Direction of Travel for UFO(s): back in forth, up and down, and sitting completely still

Other Known Object(s) (For possible reference, or contrast): I saw planes in the area

Further Description of Sighting: My son called me to the front window because he said he saw a UFO, I of course laughed till I saw what he was seeing and could not identify it myself.Please let me know if you know what these lights are, or if anyone else saw them.
