It is an ancient prophecy in Native American culture known as the Rainbow Prophecy. The prophecy goes back thousands of years and goes into how those who are the keepers of legends and rituals will return to help bring the earth back from ill health. The keepers will go about yet again teaching those on the earth to love the planet and to be kind to it. They will also teach how to live in harmony with one another.
Is The Rainbow Prophecy Upon Us?
Now comes the biggest question of all could we in the world be on the verge of the Rainbow Prophecy? For those who might feel this is nothing more than a myth look at the facts as they are and part of the prophecy that has been passed down through generations. This one in particular about the environment is quite an eye opener in itself:
“One day… there would come a time, when the earth being ravaged and polluted, the forests being destroyed, the birds would fall from the air, the waters would be blackened, the fish being poisoned in the streams, and the trees would no longer be, mankind as we would know it would all but cease to exist.”
This passage could be talking about the polluted state of the earth as it is now. If this one isn’t ironic enough, there is the passage about true leadership and those who are true leaders of the people. According to this prophecy, it isn’t those who speak the loudest or even those necessarily in power. It’s those who take action those who choose put themselves out there for a cause. Who show themselves to be brave in the face of adversity. Again, have we not throughout history seen these individuals, and most of the time they weren’t in positions of power, but they certainly were never forgotten for their contributions. Perhaps these are the types of leaders that are needed, and according to the Rainbow Prophecy, these are the ones who should lead.
Many Native American Tribes feel strongly in the Rainbow Prophecy, such as the Cree, Hopi, and Cherokee just to name a few. But all these tribes agree that this prophecy isn’t just for the Native American’s it is for all mankind. As is illustrated in another verse from the prophecy
“There will come a day when people of all races, colors, and creeds will put aside their differences. They will come together in love, joining hands in unification, to heal the Earth and all Her children. They will move over the Earth like a great Whirling Rainbow, bringing peace, understanding, and healing everywhere they go. Many creatures thought to be extinct or mythical will resurface at this time; the great trees that perished will return almost overnight. All living things will flourish, drawing sustenance from the breast of our Mother, the Earth.”
Ushering in a new era of peace and prosperity
For those interested in reading more about the Rainbow Prophecy books have been written on this subject. One, in particular, is ‘Warriors of the Rainbow’ by William Willoya and Vinson Brown. The book goes into the Rainbow Prophecy and how it affects us. But keep in mind that the book has also met with some criticism for how it interpreted the prophecy on a whole and making references to the second coming of the Messiah with it which didn’t sit too well with some.
In any case, as seen above this prophecy can be quite eerie to read. After all, we are now living through some of this and what could come next. There are those who believe that the ancient tribes of the Native American’s saw prophecies that maybe even they didn’t fully understand at the time, but are now becoming all too clear to those of us who are living in the present.
