Anonymous have directly threatened the president-elect Donald Trump on Twitter. The hacktivist collective known for their hacking prowess and efficiently executed cyber-attacks have claimed that Trump has links to Russian mobsters, child traffickers, and money launderers and that he was going to ‘regret the next 4 years’.

In a series of tweets sent from @YourAnonCentral, a Twitter account associated with the group, to the president-elect, Anonymous said: “This isn’t the 80’s any longer, information doesn’t vanish, it is all out there, ” read a tweet from @YourAnonCentral, a Twitter account associated with the group. “You are implicated in some really heavy sh*t, ” the writer continued “Roy Cohen and your daddy aren’t here to protect you anymore.”

It is believed that the reference to Cohen alludes to his representation of Trump during the 1970s when he was taken to court by the Justice Department accused of violating the Fair Housing Act by refusing to allow his houses to be rented by African American families. Trump never conceded guilt, and his company only had to pay a small fine and agree to certain stipulations regarding anti-discrimination policy in the future. Many people believe that Trump managed to buy his way out of trouble in a similar way to many businesses prosecuted along similar lines in the 1970s.

Anonymous did not make a threat that suggested that their collective would be releasing information about Trump in the imminent future. Instead, they encouraged their followers to start investigating Trump themselves. “You go get him. It’s your duty as adults, ” they tweeted, “We gave you the resources, use them.”

As a follow-up, Anonymous also said that Trump’s campaign office was attempting to attack those who criticized him online with a ‘Moldovian bot farm.’ “Oh and please tell your interns not to waste money hitting us with your Moldavian bot farm, stay frosty @realDonaldTrump, ” the account signed off.

This is not the first time that Anonymous have squared up to Donald Trump. Before he became the Republican Party’s nominee, the group leaked information from his phone including voice mails and telephone numbers in an operation they referred as “#OpWhiteRose.”
