Two commercial airline pilots, who wish to remain anonymous, have come forward with an incredible story which they claim occurred on Boxing Day. The pilots claim that they were flying a short distance from the American coast, close to Atlantic City when they encountered another vessel which they believe was a UFO and which they suspect was trying to communicate with them.

The pilots decided to tell their story to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC). They describe an uneventful flight from New York to Miami on a very clear night with no problems with visibility. They reached a site approximately a hundred nautical miles east of Atlantic City between the hours of 9.00pm and 10.00pm. It was then that they noticed an object moving towards them through the sky. The pilots say that it was at least three times the size of the stars in their sight line, emitting bright lights and moving around the airplane at a ‘pretty rapid rate.’

The pilots noted that the UFO was emitting flashing lights rather than a solid beam. They noticed a pattern of consecutive white light bursts followed by a single orangey red flash. “We did flash our lights at it a few times, and the other pilot believes it flashed back in sequence; I felt the return flashes were probably coincidental, but possible. Neither one of use have ever seen and heard of an occurrence like this, ” said one of the pilots.

Initially, they planned to report what they had seen to air traffic control but decided that might not be the best course of action. The pilots have reason to be wary about speaking out about UFO experiences. Pilots in a similar position in the past have been ridiculed, fired from their jobs and subject to lawsuits from passengers for coming forward about in-flight UFO experiences.
