The #1 Paranormal News Site
Warminster, in Wiltshire, and Bonnybridge near Falkirk are both famed for their paranormal incidents
TWO British towns have been named by a top travel guide as among the best places on the planet to ‘meet an alien.’
Warminster, in south-west England, and Scotland’s Bonnybridge have become hotspots for UFO sightings after a series of bizarre incidents.
The country town of Warminster became a paranormal sensation in the 1960s and is placed fifth on the guide by travel experts Wanderlust.
In 1965, the south-west community was rocked by reports of mystery noises and unexplained sightings in the night skies.
On August 17 of that year, a supposed ‘detonation noise’, shook homes in a housing estate in the Wiltshire town before a “monstrous orange flame was seen in the sky, crackling and hissing”, reports the Express.
The terrifying incident, known as the ‘Warminster Thing’, transformed the town from a sleepy country community into a world leader in UFO sightings.

Bonnybridge, just outside Falkirk, is famed for sightings and is officially twinned with Roswell in New Mexico, the site of the famous alleged flying saucer crash in 1947.
The mysterious village, which was placed eighth in the ‘meet an alien guide’, forms part of the ‘Falkirk Triangle’, an area stretching from Stirling to the outskirts of Edinburgh.
Alien enthusiasts claim that Bonnybridge is the world’s number one UFO location, with an average of around 300 sightings a year, according to government stats.
To those who still believe ‘The Truth Is Out There’, Wanderlust does also point out that police believe alcohol may have been a factor in some of the sightings.
In 1992, a local man named James Walker reported seeing a star-shaped object hovering in the skies above the town.
This legendary incident was the first known sighting in Bonnybridge and sparked UFO fever in the community.
Numerous other sightings prompted a local government investigation.
Taking top spot on Wanderlust’s guide is the iconic Area 51 in Nevada where the US government has been testing and developing secret aircrafts for decades.
Second place went to The Nullabor in Australia, followed by the M Triangle in Russia and Roswell in New Mexico.
