SALT LAKE CITY, UT (WCMH) – A shocking video shows a 2-year-old boy moving a full sized dresser to save his twin brother from harm.

Kayli Shoff, the mother of 2-year-olds Brock and Bowdy, knows just how fun it can be to have two twin boys. However, it can get stressful at times. “They’re almost 2 1/2, and they’re super rambunctious, ” states Shoff.

This proved to be true when a video on the boy’s monitor showed a fallen dresser with the two boys playing beside it.

“.I usually hear everything. We didn’t hear a cry. We didn’t hear a big thud, so we just–we woke up, looked at the camera, we’re like ‘What’s going on? Are they still sleeping?’ Then we saw that it was all the way down they were just still playing. So we didn’t know if it had landed on them, ” Shoff told KSL.

The video shows the dresser falling on one of the twin boys, who had previously been playing on the dresser. The second boy, Bowdy, saw his brother was in trouble. He quickly ran over and pushed the dresser.

The scene was described by Shoff to KSL: “Bowdy just came around and. Assessed the situation, thinking ‘I need to help my twin brother. What do I do here?’ So, he sat there and thought. Tried to left it at first. Obviously, that didn’t work. So he just pushed with all of his might (.)right off of his brother. I really believe in the twin bond. You always hear that. And I really think these two have it.”

This video goes to show the dangers of having unsecured furniture around children. Immediately after witnessing this horrific scene, Shoff went into the room and bolted the dresser to the wall. She then made the decision to share the video in hopes that other families would see it and secure their own furniture. In a final statement, Shoff tells KSL, “Everybody needs to bolt down their dressers to the wall. I mean, we just didn’t think about it…so accidents are gonna happen. So, we just want awareness to this one accident that happened and hope that it doesn’t happen to any other family.”
