Saw first while sun was setting (9:30 pm central time zone) and appeared as consistent red/orange orb emitting incredibly bright light and hovering at a lower altitude. unmistakable for anything of known causation. sky otherwise clear. it looked about the size of a quarter from where we were, presumably at least a mile off in the distance. it stayed in the same spot without moving for about a minute. disappeared completely within a second, was just gone without a trace. then it reappeared exactly the same a few minutes later and shown for about another minute.
