Sitting in the eastern part of charles c. winburn in northglenn co. across from my condo, watching fireworks, when my girlfriend noticed a red-orange light above a tree to our north, (to our left, above 112th ave) move straight up rapidly. i did not see it ascend, but spotted it the second she pointed it out. i watched as it appeared to hover motionless, for about 10 seconds, before rapidly descending. as it descended, i noticed it change colors, from red, orange, yellow then white. it hovered there for a few seconds, then accelerated to the right (east) rapidly where it momentarily disappeared behind a tree. we saw it again for a brief time as it ascended slightly above the tree that was was blocking our vision. we continued searching the sky for it for it about 5 minutes afterwards, before spotting it once more toward the east. (the direction we faced as we sat) this time it was higher in the sky and was descending rapidly. again i noticed it changing colors as it dropped, until it just flickered out and disappeared. we never saw it again. now i know considering the day of the year, people might want to dismiss our sighting as a mis-identification of fireworks, but we were watching fireworks go off in all directions, and this light didn’t act or look like any firework that i have ever seen before.
