Went out on the driveway to look for meteor showers. after a few minutes i saw a very bright, 1 second long flash of light directly above, many miles away. 7-10 seconds later another flash for 1 second in the same spot, then another and another all from the same spot in the sky. this went on for a couple of minutes. i ran in the house to grab my phone to check the iss app but the iss was over africa. it could have been a string of meteors entering the atmosphere from directly above i suppose, but that would be very unusual and satelites usually move across the sky. the light reminded me of a 100 watt light bulb viewed from maybe 500 ft away. there were no aircraft in the area at this time.
