At about 8:17 on wednesday night in palm springs, i look up and see what appears to be a star, moving west to east, slowing down and then speeding up, until a quick 90 degree turn north. after going north for about 10 seconds, it stopped for almost 45 seconds before leaving my visible horizon in the same direction (north). it was not particularly bright, and there were no flashes on it. it looked like a star and i know was extremely high up, because a plane passed by underneath while it was stationary for those 45 seconds. it appeared much higher than the plane.
