Let me start by saying that my father works for the FAA, overseeing maintenance in the FICO maintenance branch. He instilled in me with a love of airplanes from a young age.
I am very familiar with the air traffic patterns over and around my neighborhood, and I can usually identify the types of planes that are going overhead, even at night.
There are two regional airports right next to my home town (yukon ok), one that is not Used anymore, and Wiley post, just northeast. There is also Will Rogers airport to the southeast. Air traffic, both planes and helicopters is constant day and night, but both are almost always low flying.
There is also a burn ban in effect, along with things like Chinese lanterns not being legal to buy or use right now.
Drones are also very rare in my neck of the woods, but I believe this was way too big to be one of those.
With that out of the way, coming home last night, around 6:30pm, the sun was just starting to set. I was driving North. Oklahoma being fairly flat, landmarks are easily seen from a long way away, and distances are judged fairly easily, as long as you are familiar with the area.
In the distance, I saw two points of light, blinking in an alternating pattern. They were tiny, smaller than stars it seemed, but very bright. They were a white/very light green color. They were lined up along the horizon and seemed to be fixed relative to eachother. I would estimate that they were about 10 miles away, because they seemed to be getting closer as I drove toward them at about the same rate as a neighborhood at about that distance from me. They were about 1/2 inch apart at arms length. Using an online calculator, that puts them at a very roughly estimated 663 feet apart.
After driving toward them for a couple minutes, they seemed to be drifting veeerrry slowly to the west. That's when I noticed a third light, just like the others in size, brightness, and color, but "swooping" around in very smooth, unpredictable motions. It was blinking as well, but it was almost like it would fade in, then "burn out." it would fade in, move around, then burn out, appearing in a different location when it faded in again. All the lights drifted to the west, and "down" to where I lost sight of them behind some trees. I drive around trying to find them again but they were gone. I feel a strange sense of uneasyness about them. I can't explain it at all. I will try to find a Google maps image of where. I was, and where I think they were, but for some reason my phone wouldn't wake up until I got home. I couldn't take any pictures.
EDIT: here are some really crappy Google earth pics to sort of illustrate what I saw. https://imgur.com/a/nYe1R
