Scientists are working on an enzyme they have found in the brain that involves the formation of memories, particularly long-term memory. This may mean that in the future bad memories may be able to be erased. The scientists think that people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or any other affliction that is memory related will be able to be treated by targeting an enzyme to delete any bad memories.
Memories Of People Could Be Hijacked For Darker Ulterior Motives
This sounds all well and good but conspiracy theorists may be waving a red flag about now and thinking that it might be a way to hijack the memories of people and it could be used for darker ulterior motives.
The enzyme ACSS2 is what plays a part in being able to remember something and storing new memories as it switches on the memory genes that are found in the brain cell nucleus. The switched on memory genes are what control the restructuring of the synapse; this is where one brain cell meets the other. Proteins are made at the restructured synapse and this is what forms memories.
Experiments With Mice Revealed They Had Forgotten
Scientists experimented with mice and they found that the reduced levels of the ACSS2 enzyme in the mice were lowering the memory gene expression. This left the mice with levels of the enzyme that were low and this meant they were unable to form memories over the long term. In tests, the mice with the lower levels of the enzyme had shown disinterest in a ball but in previous days when the levels were normal, they had shown interest. The mice with normal levels had always shown interest in it throughout the whole of the experiment.
Scientists are now considering preventing memory formation with humans as they can clock ACSS2 enzyme levels in the human brain. It was said that this would be able to prevent either preservation of bad memories along with the formation of them in the first place in people who are suffering from PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
Government Agencies Could Use It As Mind Control
While this sounds like a good idea, some people believe that perhaps it could have implications that are more sinister. It might be used as a mind control technology by government agencies including the CIA. Some have gone as far as to suggest that this technique might already be in place erasing the memories of black ops.
It might be used as a weapon on the consciousness and free will of people. For instance, it could be used on a journalist who has anti-New World objections who during an investigation found evidence that damming and which suggested vaccine damage cover up. The memories of this reporter might be deleted so that they would not be able to report their findings and this allows the perpetrators to get away with it without being exposed. There are countless other possibilities where memories could be deleted.
There are some people who have said that there is no need for enzyme treatment due to the number of successful therapies that are now being used for treating PTSD, anxiety, and depression, such as cognitive behavior psychotherapy.
Deleting Bad Memories Could Be A Huge Mistake
Deleting bad memories from the minds of people could be a big mistake. People learn from history, their mistakes, so if they do not have them, there is nothing to stop them from repeating the same mistake.
The enzyme treatment has been based on the assumption that all of the memories have been stored within the brain. However, Rupert Sheldrake believes that this is no so and it is a false assumption.
If soldiers that had fought in the wars who suffer from PTSD found that the wars were fake and they had been manufactured in secret by the ruling elite for profit, political gain, and power, they would not have bad memories, as they would have refused to fight in the wars in the first place.
