US involvement in Netherlands has hit sky high.

The United States is increasing their presence in Netherlands. Their goal is to scare and warn Russia that they. They want to make a clear statement that NATO will not be violated by any means. They want to say that the United States are ready to defend NATO at whatever cost.

What is NATO?

The NATO is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization which include 28 countries almost all of them in North America and Europe. Their goal is to unite themselves in protection of a future attack on an external country or group. Any member that is subject to an attack can require the help from another country of NATO to help defend itself. An important note is that NATO has over 70% of the military power of all the world. NATO has a supreme commander which resides in Belgium where the headquarter is established. NATO have 22 more countries that made a program called “Partnership for Peace”. Those countries, while are not a member of NATO directly, are affiliated with them.

What did the United States do

The United States sent about 1600 tanks. They sent the largest shipment of ammunition since 1996 of about 600 container

Tanks have been received and parked at a village named Eygelshoven. That small village is established since 1985 and was built up to basically provide a training ground in the possible event of a Soviet Invasion.

General Tom Middendorp, which is a well-known military defenseman for the Dutch said that near the Russian border you could feel all the tensions building up.

The Russian is starting to be a threat to the entire world and not only to those countries near their border. There is hope, though because NATO and Russia are expected to talk next Monday about their relationship in the hope of restoring a bit of peace.
