Another UFO has been spotted and photographed in the sky above Devon – with one person claiming it’s ‘some new type of sick military weaponry originating from the nearby Plymouth Naval base’.

Musician Mark Emmins was among those who witnessed the spectacular sight, which left a blazing contrail in the sky and was visible for around three hours.

His friend Tyron Osborne grabbed a camera and photographed the incredible sight.

Sharing the pictures on Facebook, Mr Emmins wrote: ‘Today for the second time in my life I can honestly say that myself and my neighbour watched a UFO.

He explained: ‘It was lit up like a white light at first, then changed colour to a dark shade before it vanished. But it was stationary for a few hours before it moved.’

‘It was stood still in the sky for some hours and then decided to move and then vanish. We got photos too.’

Mr Emmins said he originally thought the object looked like a ‘bent cloud’, but he then noticed the skies were clear.

Mr Emmins first saw the saucer-shaped object at about 1pm on Wednesday, above Dawlish.

“My neighbour had asked ‘have you seen the comet?’,” said Mark, a local musician.

“All of sudden it began moving towards us coming from Dawlish towards Exmouth, which took about two minutes.

“It was leaving behind a trail and at the front of the object was a big bright light which went a dark colour as it neared.

“Then it just disappeared, vanished without a trace. There was absolutely nothing left behind.”

The pictures sparked a debate on Mr Emmins’ Faceboom page, with one person suggesting the UFO could have been caused by a launch from Her Majesty’s Naval Base Devonport, in Plymouth.

Mickie Owen wrote: ‘Probably some new type of sick military weaponry originating from the nearby Plymouth Naval base.’

However, others have different theories.

Wendy Seaman posted: ‘Looks like the Enterprise. Are you sure it wasn’t a satellite, one goes over about 4ish daily. When its a clear day you can see it clearly.’

Paul Oxenham said: ‘It could have been someone’s drone.’

Warren Johnson wasn’t impressed by the pictures and wrote: ‘It’s definitely a fake anyway but all good fun posting it.’

But Steph Pommier seemed positive that the sighting could be evidence that we are not alone in the universe.

She wrote: ‘UFOs have been spotted since the beginning of Man. Just accept it. We cannot know nor control everything. ‘

The images bear a striking resemblance to pictures taken in Newton Abbot back in September by UFO spotter John Mooner.

Mr Mooner claims he spotted and photographed eight UFOs in just three months in Devon – including the one above in Newton Abbot, which – like this latest sighting – appeared to leave a contrail in the sky.

John said: “I was sky watching when I spotted what at first I thought was a plane, but when I zoomed in on the object I had quite a shock. I could clearly see that the object was in fact a flying saucer that was leaving a contrail as it moved across the Sky.

“I quickly took a photograph of the flying saucer before it moved off into a cloud covered part of the sky.”
