In an age of technology, one cause of loss of sleep is staring at those bright devices right before bed. But now, you can stare at something else (no it’s not what you are thinking). You can gaze at your very own moon garden.

How To Create Your Very Own Moon Garden

Many people grow their fruits and vegetables organically, to avoid the pesticides and chemicals of the big name food manufacturers. The best solution is to plant a garden in your backyard, but most people will never know that they can grow exotic flowers in their gardens that glow at night.

These glowing flowers are remarkably gorgeous and create a natural environment. If you plant them next to your bedroom, you can smell their aromas as they glow. Most night bloomers are white. Other varieties can be light blue or give a tinge of yellow. Below are a few flowers that you might want to consider buying if you are interested in taking on such a new look to your garden:

Evening Primrose: This type of flower has a tendency to spread across your garden, even popping up in places where you didn’t plant it. Much like a vine, you will want to keep it contained. It is classified as a perennial, and the petals open up at evening, giving off an aroma and pink-white glow. Peak season is in late spring.

Moonflower: This night blooming flower opens up at night with a lemon fragrance and can light up the garden with a white glow. These flowers are quite big, spanning half a foot in diameter (when they bloom), and growing as tall as eighteen inches.

Night Phlox: Much like Evening Primrose, these flowers open at evening time and have a honey scent.

Evening Stock: Indicated by the name, these open at dusk and are pinkish-purple. They are known for being small, but still impressive additions to anyone’s garden.

Angel’s Trumpet: This grows incredibly fast across your garden, so please keep it under control. It is classified as a vine, but with buds on the ends that open at night. It looks like a bell when opened with a white glow.

Night Gladiolus: This creamy yellow flower smells the strongest of them all, being a thick spicy scent.

There you have it; you now know what to do with that space in your garden. Just keep in mind that vining plants like Angel’s Trumpet will need a trellis to grow on because they might not bloom fully unless.
